For my research project I was thinking of 'The Effects of Various Drugs and Diseases on Neurochemistry' as the topic.

Article Summary -
  1. The study of the brain has been going on since the time of the Victorian Era, through the work of Johann Thudichum. Since then, many leaps and bounds have been made in the field of neuroscience in various different specifics including neurochemistry.
  2. Modern era of neuroscience began in the 1950's with neurophysiologists joining forces with neurochemists and morphologists. These scientists collaborated through usage of new techniques in order to make new unique advancements in the field of neurobiology.
  3. Neurochemistry is best understood in a multidisciplinary fashion with other studies including biology, physiology, and anatomy.
  4. A textbook called Chemical Neurobiology is a popular textbook available today about the subject. However, this book has several limitations.
  5. The textbook is missing several key topics and has the potential to mislead readers due to these missing points.
  6. These shortcomings will likely prevent many people from using this book.
  7. Modern study of the brain has had very interesting advancements and widespread interest from various students. However, there is much work to be done with several key areas not having much research completed.
